    It's curious that disposable polystyrene cups, which we conventionally use only once, are made from a material regarded as virtually indestructible. Metals like bronze, on the other hand, are probably less hardy but we treat them as precious and unchanging, ignoring inevitable wear, corrosion and decay. In my body of work entitled Houding a construction of used, but still pristine, white cups stands in contrast to a series of bronze sculptures which recall well-used, hard-wearing industrial surfaces and textures.
